I am SO proud of the kids. All, except a couple, do their own sounding out on all of their words. Their spacing is on point! Their handwriting rocks! I have a Word Wall that has all of our sight words for the year. If they are trying to spell "you", they just look under the Y (they know that whatever the word starts with, it will be under that letter). Then, they just have to figure out which word is "you". I only have two words under Y. So, that one isn't very hard. Sometimes, I will help them decide which word they are needing to spell. I am so proud of how hard they have worked, and the best part is... they don't even act like it's work. They seem to enjoy it! Happy Teacher here!!!!

Veterans Day
The kids wrote about why they love America in honor of our Veterans. We had a discussion about other countries and how much freedom we have in America to pray and worship our God.
I will discuss what a Veteran is sometime this week, and we will watch a short video.

I'm so proud of how far these kids have come on their creative writings. I love reading how they sound out the words. If a child can sound out and spell words, they can read! Proven fact!

FYI... I helped in the very beginning when we first started creative writing in October. Everything after October, they are completing on their own. I tell them to sound out their words and remember their spacing and capital letters. Sometimes, I have to remind them to do something, and they will fix it. They have been writing on their own since December (at least). Every once in a while I will help them with a blend sound or if they leave out a vowel, but I'm so proud of them for doing this on their own without complaining. My class is the bomb! Real troopers, they are! I'll encourage them to do a really great creative story this Friday, and I'll post pictures. If you see a big heart on their page, it's a compliment. Some want me to do that, but some don't want me to mess up their page. Haha! It's the OCD in them (like their teacher). hehe! :)

So proud of these loooonng creative writings. I love that they are using their little brains creatively. All of my kids are spacing between words, capitalizing the first letter of the sentence, and writing complete sentences. We are still working on remembering periods at the moment. Proud teacher moment!
